Dr. Khalil Sammour

Dr. Sammour graduated from Ain Shams University, Cairo (1976). He completed the Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgery.

Dr. Sammour worked as General Surgeon at Al Qassimi Hospital and Head of Surgical Department & Medical Director at Kuwaiti Hospital for 18 years. He gained surgical experience from Scotland & London, U.K. and recently from New Zealand where he worked as a General Surgeon (1998 – 2002).

Dr. Sammour has vast experience in Thyroid, Parathyroid, Breast, Hernias upper and lower gastro intestinal diseases, trauma, plastic surgery and varicose veins.
Also, in diagnostic and therapeutic GIT endoscopy. He is actively involved in CME, chaired many Infection Control, Morbidity/Mortality and Quality Assurance Committees and is involved in organizing national and international conferences.

Dr. Sammour is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, and the EAES European Association of Endoscopic Surgeons. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in the U.K (1986), a pioneer of surgery who started and established the General Surgical Unit in Kuwaiti Hospital, Sharjah. He also started and established laparoscopic surgery in Sharjah (1996) and was the first to conduct Laparoscopic Keyhole Surgery in Sharjah & Northern Emirates, since then he operated on more than 2000 patients.

Dr. Sammour introduced the up-to-date treatment of hemorrhoids (THD to the UAE), and established the proctology unit at Al Zahra Hospital. He has many paper presentations to his name.

Dr. Sammour speaks Arabic and English.
