- Dr. Sharmila passed MBBS and MD in General Medicine from Guwahati University in India in 1990.
- She did post doctoral course in Neurology from the reputated All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi in 1195.
- It is the most premier medical institute in India.
- Subsequently she worked as Assistant Professor of Neurology for 5 years before joining as Consultant Neurologist in the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia in 2001.
- She has done a course in Epilepsy rom the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA.
- Dr. Sharmila was practicing Neurology in a private Hospital in Sharjah since the last 6 years.
- She has extensive experience in managing patients of epilepsy and migraine both adults and children.
- She has been following a large number of pediatric patients of epilepsy during her practice in the UAE.
- She single handedly managed many critically ill neurological emergencies and has been administering acute stroke patients with thrombolytic agents (clot breaking drugs) with great success and has been avoiding disabling paralytic
consequencies in many.
- She has extensive experience in handling patients with neuropathies., neck & back pain and myopathies.
- Dr Sharmila has handled patients of Movement disorders with medications and Injection Botox
- She is well accomplished in doing and interpreting nerve conduction studies, electromyographies and electro-encephalographies in adults and children.
