Al Zahra Hospital Sharjah hosted the American Board of Modern and Regenerative Medicine for three days for a conference on modern stem cell therapy. The conference was led by Dr. Raed Farhat, Specialist, Plastic Surgeon, and the Educational Director of the American Board in the Middle East.

The Medical delegations consisted of fifteen doctors from Iraq. Dr. Raed Farhat discussed modern regenerative medicine with stem cells, their types and how to extract them from the marrow, blood and placenta along with its various treatments. The physicians also discussed cases from their everyday practice.  A practical training on how to extract whole stem cells from fat was conducted which lasted 45 minutes. This procedure was done for the first time at Al Zahra Hospital Sharjah. The modern stem cell therapy led by Dr. Raed has provided the opportunity to make Al Zahra Hospital Sharjah the first destination for training and education for doctors in the field of medicine in the Middle East.
