Dr Gopalakrishna Bhat completed Bachelors in Medicine & Surgery from Bombay University & is a Member of College of Physicians & Surgeons of Bombay University, India. Dr Gopalakrishna has completed MD (General Medicine) and DM (Cardiology) from Bombay University, India. Dr Gopalakrishna is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology ( FESC ) & Fellow of the American College of Cardiology ( FACC ).

Dr Gopalakrishna has extensive work experience in the field of Cardiology for more than 29 years in India namely as a Chief Interventional Cardiologist at Medical Trust Hospital, Ernakulam, Interventional Cardiologist in Padmavathy Heart Institute, Kollam, Vijaya Hospital, Kottakkara and at Valiyath Institute Of Medical Science, Kollam. Dr. Gopalakrishna has experience in perioperative management of cases which included coronary artery bypas surgery, valve repair, valve replacement, commissurotomy, shunt procedures and post-surgery congenital heart disease management.

Dr Gopalakrishna’s areas of expertise includes Non-invasive and invasive Cardiology Outpatient & Inpatient care, CCU Management (Critical Care Unit), Non Invasive: Echocardiography including Paediatric echo, Treadmill testing , Holter study, Ambulatory BP monitoring , Dobutamine Stress Echo, Invasive: Adult cardiac catheterization, Right heart catheterization, Temporary pacing, coronary angiography, primary and elective coronary angioplasty, Permanent pacemaker implantation with AICD Implant and Peripheral Angioplasty including Renal Angioplasty.

Dr Gopalakrishna has several publications to his name and has attended various conferences and is an active participant & Life Member in Cardiology Society of India. He is also an active Member of “First Cardiac Transplant in Kerala held in Medical Trust Hospital-Kochi”.

Dr Gopalakrishna speaks English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarati and Konkani.
